Excuse #1: My renewal date is months away.

If you are on a quarterly payment plan, you don’t have to be held back by your renewal date. You can change your coverage to TNP before your next quarterly payment is due.

Excuse #2: I currently have a claims-made policy and worry about the expense of tail coverage if I switch.

If you currently hold a claims-made policy with another company, TNP can transfer your current retroactive date to your new policy.  (Your retroactive date is the start date of coverage through the claims-made policy you currently have.)  In many cases, TNP rates for retroactive coverage are lower than other companies’ tail coverage rates.

You should also note that some insurance policies issued by hospitals, groups, training programs, the government or the military may automatically provide tail coverage.  If this is the case, then you would not need to pay for additional retroactive coverage through TNP.  We recommend that you check with your current insurance provider to determine if tail coverage is automatically provided.
